A Mother's Dream
Inspired by My Mother, Glennis R. Batisse and the dreams she had for all of her children. She was ferociously protective, a hard worker, and a loving mother. She embodied the spirit of the mother bear.
Lone Wolf
Wolves have always fascinated me, their beauty, their strength and their mysterious ways. Wolves are very independent and while they are solitary, they still play an important role in the pack. They bring new genes and new territory and that keeps the pack healthy.
Future Visions
We need to always be moving forward, looking towards the future, making plans and working together for the betterment of all people.
Starlight Bears
Inspired by My Niece, who I was privileged enough to watch grow up. Through great adversity she has grown into a wonderful, strong mother and wife.
Raven by Night
Raven By Night was based on a customer's request. The raven is a symbol of knowledge, creativity and for change. He is also know as a trickster, he teaches many lessons and through his actions brings about necessary change.
Peace Pipe
This is one of my oldest drawings. Originally done in pencil back in the early 80's. Eventually it was brought out and restored in ink. This is featured in another one of my drawings, which is based on the White Buffalo legend.
The Turtle / "Mikinaak"
The turtle is a totem animal on which many legends and stories are based. It symbolizes good health and long life. The hard shell symbolizes protection and perseverance.
Turtle Island
Based on the legend of creation. During a great flood, a turtle agreed to become an island and the muskrat brought mud up from the bottom and placed it on the turtles back.
Kathleen's Spirit
Inspired by the power, strength, and beauty of the horse. This is the only piece of artwork that was completed with the help of a fellow artist, my niece.
